Almost one-third (28%) security professionals admitted to have compromised their ethics to pass audit, as per latest research by FireMon, a security management vendor. The number of IT security professionals compromising with their ethics has increased by 6% over the past five years, as per the report.
Security professionals are over-stressed due to growing network complexity and increasing cyber crimes despite the consistent efforts and sophisticated technologies to keep the attackers at bay, emphasized the report.
More than half, 51%, of security professionals felt that they spend most of their day fire-fighting (the cyber attacks) rather than doing meaningful security work, as per the survey.
